The birthing of Vizsable.com came to fruition in 2009, and is the brain child of Russell D. Meyers, Jr.
Russell has spent much of his professional career as an employment recruiter and was well aware that headhunters and retainer recruiters, while serving a vital function in the human resources industry, do not add value to the marketplace in a reciprocal amount as that which is extracted. A drastic, but not uncommon example would be a typical employment firm charging a company as much as fifty percent over and above payroll for a temporary employee.
A cursory examination of websites devoted to job searching reveal hundreds, if not thousands of pages where a user can hawk their skillsets and hopefully find gainful employment. Many of these sites are either industry specific, location specific, salary specific, or are specific to government agencies. Most, if not all, allow for resume creation and direct application to entities that are actively seeking employees. Every one of them requires creating separate accounts for their use. As a result, valuable opportunities are often lost due to the sheer volume of spam emails generated by these countless sites alone. Heading back down the curve, none of the existing platforms provide for private negotiations. Most do not have a function for video content, not even to augment resumes. Again, they are limited to offering a web platform solely for employees seeking employers, or vice-versa. So, what happens to the person that doesn’t exactly fit the typical model? What about the entrepreneur? What about the independent contractor? What about the patent holder seeking investment? What about the high school kid looking for small odd jobs? At present, none of the existing platforms even come close to offering a total solution to address the greater American unemployment situation. Employment levels languish behind with a thirty-four percent non-participation rate for the entire civilian population in the U.S.
Born out of his own outrage and frustration with the existing “industry standard,” Russell began to conceptualize a better methodology for bringing people together in pursuit of a common goal; whatever that goal may be. He knew beyond a shadow of a doubt, that there had to be a better way to bring employers and opportunity seekers together without the extractive and parasitic overhead of traditional employment brokers.
Armed with the knowledge that the system is broken and that there clearly is a lack of available tools to meet the demand for the existing employment model, Russell enlisted the help of colleagues and fellow professionals to establish the Executive Management of Vizsable.com and to bring his visionary solution and his new employment model to life in the global marketplace.
